The judge recently delayed a decision on CZ's release to Dubai to further review the case.Β

Prosecution Requests CZ Stays in the USΒ Β

The US prosecution argued that CZ should stay in the country until his sentencing date, citing the lack of an extradition treaty between the US and UAE. They were worried CZ may not return for sentencing if allowed to go back to Dubai now. CZ is currently allowed to leave the US under the bail conditions but must return at least two weeks before sentencing.

Awaiting the Judge's Final Ruling

The federal judge is still considering whether CZ poses a flight risk or not. He will review all details of the case and input from both sides before making a final determination on if CZ is permitted to return to Dubai with his family before sentencing. Both CZ's legal team and the prosecution will be anxiously awaiting the judge's decision on this matter.

The federal judge has yet to make a final ruling on whether CZ will be allowed to return to Dubai before his February 2023 sentencing. Both sides have presented arguments regarding any flight risks. The judge will carefully consider all factors in the case and available information on CZ before deciding if he can reunite with his family overseas or must stay in the US as the legal proceedings progress. This will be an important decision to watch in determining next steps for CZ.
